Michael Hussey Names Three Batsmen He Want to Watch Playing Live
Australian cricketer Michael Hussey is one of the most talented batsmen of all time. He is often called ‘Mr Cricket’ mainly because of his knowledge of the game and his flawless technique. Recently, Hussey has been put under the scanner of some difficult questions, and he might have struggled to answer those related to his cricket career. And upon one question Michael Hussey names three batsmen he wants to watch them playing live even though he has to pay some cash to watch them.
In an exclusive interview with ESPNCricinfo, the former Australian batsmen were asked about a bowler who had given him sleepless nights; he appointed Dale Steyn, the South African fast listen was the only one to have troubled him greatly in his career.
Hussey played under MS Dhoni while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), while Ricky Ponting was the Australian skipper, but if he had the option of choosing one between the two great captains, Mr Cricket preferred Ricky Ponting on MS Dhoni in the ODI as best captain.
The 44-year-old was one of the most iconic batsmen of his time, but when asked to name the three batsmen, he paid money to watch them live in each format, he chose AB de Villiers (T20Is), Brian Lara (Test Matches) and Michael Bevan (ODI).
Hussey has had the chance to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) which is recognized as the most active cricket leagues, but in terms of competition, Hussey thinks the IPL is the toughest competition.
There have been a lot of great bowlers in the past, but it is the legendary Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who Hussey wants to feature in international cricket for Australia. Hussey retired from international cricket in 2013 and played 185 IDs and 79 Tests for Australia and scored more than 10,000 points.
