MCC Team Could Tour Pakistan Soon

The chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Wasim Khan, said on Wednesday that his meeting with the World Cricket Committee of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) was positive and expressed confidence that an MCC team will travel to the country in a near-future.

Speaking at the flag-raising ceremony on Independence Day at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, Wasim said. “It was a very positive meeting with the MCC. Shane Warne, Kumar Sangakkara, and Mike Getting, Chair of the Committee, were present. They wanted me to talk to you about the current security in the country. The impact of the international cricket game in that country and what can be done to restore it.

“I am very confident that we will have an MCC team Tour Pakistan soon. However, some security issues need to be addressed before sending their team. We will work closely with the MCC to ensure the tour goes on.” It was the first time a REPRESENTATIVE of the PAC had been invited by the World Cricket Committee since its inception in 2006. The meeting greatly stimulated the PAC’s efforts to bring international cricket back to the country.

Cricket May Return to Pakistan

It is worth mentioning that a high-level security delegation from Sri Lanka Cricket visited Pakistan earlier this month. The four members of the delegation visited the Karachi and Gaddafi National Stadiums in Lahore, the two sites that the CCP had presented to their Sri Lankan counterparts as possible organizers of the two trials between the two countries in October of this year.

High-level delegations from Cricket Australia and the English and Welsh Cricket Board will also travel to Pakistan in September and October, respectively, to observe the situation on the ground in the country, as a result of the hard work done by the PAC. behind the scenes.

After the meeting, the MCC said in a press release. “The WCC has stated that it wants touring parties to return to Pakistan. Wasim Khan, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board, was present to present Pakistan’s security and political news to cricket. The committee discussed the conditions that would allow the groups to return to the tour. MCC will consider touring in the future”. Wasim also wished the nation a very happy Independence Day on behalf of the CCP.
