Malaysia To Host Global T20 Canada 2021

The third edition of the Global Twenty20 Canada was replaced by the host country. Although the 2020 event was held due to coronavirus, it is not happening in Canada. Malaysia to host this year’s Global T20 Canada 2021 event instead of Canada. The six-team tournament will start on June 26 and will continue till July 15.

After the success of the two events in 2018 and 2019, the third event in 2020 could not be held due to Corona. Now if everything goes according to plan, the tournament will be held in Malaysia instead of Canada.

Six teams will take part in 22 matches of the 16-day tournament at Kinrara Over, Malaysia’s only international cricket venue. Star cricketers like Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, David Warner, Steve Smith, and Brend McCullum have played in the two tournaments in 2018 and 2019.

Among the foreign cricketers, two will be in the ‘Marquee’ category in each team’s squad. All teams will compulsorily have six Canadian cricketers in their squad. Where there will be at least three emerging cricketers. However, a Malaysian cricketer should be included in each team in this year’s event.
