Lanka Premier League LPL 2021 Start From 30th July to 22 August

If all goes well, the second edition of the Lanka Premier League LPL 2021 is going to start from July 30 to 22 August 2021. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) confirmed the information in a statement. The SLC said in a statement on Wednesday (May 12) that the tournament will kick off on August 22 with the final.

Sri Lanka will play a series against India at home in July. The two teams are scheduled to play three ODIs and one T20 in the series. Sri Lanka’s bilateral series against India is scheduled to end on July 26.

The new format of the tournament ‘The Hundred’ is scheduled to be held in England at the same time. The tournament is scheduled to start on July 21. So naturally, this tournament is going to clash with ‘The Hundred’.

The first edition of the LPL was held from 26 November to 16 December 2021 by creating a bio-safety zone in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. All 23 matches of the five-team tournament were played in Hambantota. Jaffna Stallions won the first title at home.

The SLC said in a statement that the situation in the country would be monitored before hosting the event. The decision will be taken in consultation with the government and the Ministry of Health.
