KXIP: Kings XI Punjab player salaries in the 2020 IPL season

The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) entered the 2020 IPL auction with the deepest pockets among the 8 IPL teams. They entered the fray with an INR 43 crore bag and here is the list of Kings XI Punjab player salaries in IPL 2020. It allowed the franchise to bid a lot for the top picks, and Glenn Maxwell was the most expensive purchase for them this time. His second most expensive selection was Sheldon Cottrell, the West Indies fast-bowling player.

The team’s head coach, Anil Kumble, has stated that his team needs more firepower in the middle order. It is why they did everything they could for Maxwell. With a new coach and captain, Kings XI Punjab would expect to stage a stellar show this year. Interestingly, they have also cornered Jonty Rhodes and Wasim Jaffer as their new batting and field coaches, respectively.

KL Rahul and Chris Gayle: a formidable opening outfit

Since the last two seasons of IPL, the left-right combination of Rahul and Gayle has done wonders, and KL Rahul has been the leading and most explosive hitter for the Kings XI Punjab. On the other hand, KL Rahul will face a new challenge this year as he has to lead the team. It can be a burden and can hinder the free play style of the young and talented hitter.

On the other hand, Gayle hasn’t been at his best last year. He got the beginnings but didn’t take advantage of them. So, 2020 may be the year Gayle is at her top explosive.

However, this surprising combination of openness remains KXIP’s real strength.

All Kings XI Punjab Allrounders in IPL 2020

Even after a brilliant first half in 2019, Kings XI Punjab had a horrible season overall. It is why they have invested a lot in all-terrain this time, including Kiwi James Neesham and KC Gowtham. They will play most of their matches with the combination of 6 batters and five bowlers.

Please note that Kings XI Punjab did its best to buy Gowtham from Rajasthan Royals. It can be a smart move. Therefore, they have solidified their lower-middle order with the introduction of renowned players in their lineup. Remarkably, all of these players can bat in any position and can clear the ground when needed.
