KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi Renamed as Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium
The Khan Research Laboratories KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi renamed as Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, after former Pakistani speed star Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib Akhtar, the fastest bowler in the world so far, came up from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It was on this ground that Shoaib played cricket as a child. Due to which Shoaib Akhtar was dubbed as Rawalpindi Express.
Humbled and honoured to share that the historic KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi has been renamed as Shoaib Akhtar Stadium. I am rarely ever lost for words but today I am! I truly have no words to thank everyone for the love & respect i have received over the years.

I never lost the language to describe anything. But I lost today. There is no language to really thank for the love and respect I have received over the years. I really have no language to thank everyone. ”
He further wrote, “I have always tried my best to serve Pakistan with devotion and dedicated determination. We have always tried our best to keep our flag high. Today and every day I wear Tara (National Symbol of Pakistan) on my chest with pride. Thank you, Pakistan. Long live. ”
