Jonny Bairstow Ruled Out of T20 World Cup 2022 Suffering Lower Limb Injury in a freak Accident

Jonny Bairstow has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, as he suffered a lower limb injury in a freak accident while playing golf in Leeds. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed a 15-man roster for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

However, opener Jason Roy has been left off the list. Roy was cut from the team owing to his recent poor performance. Jos Buttler, the usual captain, will lead the squad. However, Jonny Bairstow was hurt just hours after joining England’s World Cup team. He had an ankle injury while playing golf. He must get surgery. The in-form batter will miss a considerable amount of time.

A statement from the ECB stated, “On Friday, Bairstow was injured in an accident while playing golf in Leeds. Next week, he will consult a specialist to determine the exact degree of his condition.’

Regarding his injuries, Bairstow stated, “I will be unable to participate in the forthcoming tournament or series.” Because I have been hurt and require surgery. I slipped on the golf course this morning (Friday) and sustained this injury. Best of luck in the last Test against South Africa and the World Cup in Australia.’
