Jhye Richardson Joined Australian Squad against India
Fast bowler, Jhye Richardson joined Australia’s National squad that will tour India in August. He’ll replace his WACA rhythm colleague Aaron Hardie.
The fast bowler made his debut in the Test against Sri Lanka in Brisbane earlier this year. He suffered a shoulder injury while placing himself on ODI against Pakistan in March 2019. As a result of the injury, he was unable to participate in the Vaso World. However, after going through a rehabilitation program, they added him to the team.
The young player is ready for a season at the MRF Pace Foundation, run by Australia’s great fast-bowling player Glenn McGrath. You can also play in the T20 and 50 NPS games against the MRF Academy. The ODI Squad is scheduled to arrive in India on August 10th.
It’s wonderful to have the quality of someone like Jhye on this tour says Pathways Manager Graham Manou. The tour allows Jhye to further hone her skills in subcontinent conditions under the watchful eye of Glenn McGrath and (NPS head coach) Chris Rogers.
It also provides an opportunity for younger players to work alongside Jhye. It will introduce them to a unique perspective of what it takes to be an international player and the discipline required to recover from a major injury.
