Jasprit Bumrah Moves to Number Three Position in ICC Test Ranking
India’s Jasprit Bumrah has placed at number three with the top 835 points of his career in the ICC Bowler Test ranking. In the recent two-match series between India and the West Indies, Bumrah managed to take13 wickets and with that performance, Bumrah moves up to number three position in ICC Test Ranking.
During the first test, Bumrah becomes the fastest Indian fast pacer to take 50 test wickets, and in the second test against West Indies, Burmah was able to make a hat-trick, becoming the third Indian bowler to achieve the feat in the most extended format of the game after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan.
The pacemaker was able to win the player of the series award for his performance against Windies. Bumrah had recorded figures of 5/7 in the first Test and managed to invent a 27/6 bowling spell in the second Test.
Captain Virat Kohli described him as “one of the complete bowlers in the cricket world.”
Bumrah is also the number one ODI bowler in the ICC ranking. Windies captain Jason Holder also moved to number four in the bowler rankings, as he managed to get eight wickets in the series against India.
Bumrah, 25, is now right behind Pat Cummins of Australia and Kagiso Rabada of South Africa.
Bumrah will have the opportunity to improve its standings further when the team comes out to play the three-match test series against South Africa, starting on October 2.
The Indian bowling pair of Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma India has moved to 18th and 20th places respectively.
In the team rankings, India has maintained its first place after the series’ 2-0 win over Windies.
