Islamabad vs Multan Match 16 Result PSL 2019


Multan Sultan won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 16th match of HBL PSL 2019.

Match Summary: 

Islamabad failed to have a good start as Muhammad Ilyas got the early breakthrough in the first over. Muhammad Ilyas got Luke Ronchi as he was looking dangerous. Ronchi scored 32 runs off 16 balls with six boundaries and a maximum. Samit Patel with 20 runs off 27 balls and Asif Ali with 22 runs of 12 balls tried to take the game away from Sultans. But Samit got out by Shahid Afridi and Asif by Daniel Christian.

Christian was brilliant with the ball taking 3 wickets by just giving 19 runs. He removed the danger-man Asif Ali, Rumman Raees and Muhammad Musa to finish Islamabad’s innings in 17.4 overs. The young leg-spinner Nouman with 2-14 and pacer Mohammad Ilyas with 2-21 destroyed Islamabad’s batting. They restricted them for 121 all out.

Opener Umer Siddiq made a mature 46 runs off 45 balls with five boundaries and a six. James Vince with 28 runs off 17 balls with five fours to complete the target in 19th over. Siddiq and Vince did not let the Multan’s bowlers efforts in vain as they put 54 runs opening partnership on the board against Islamabad. After the departure of James Vince and Windies Johnson Charles, the skipper Shoaib Malik gave company to young Siddiq to took the score to 99. Malik got Multan over the line with his calm nerves to not only won the match but also stand on fourth place in the points table.

Man of The Match: 

Multan Sultans Daniel Christian was declared man of the match for helping to revive his team’s down-landing fortune against Islamabad United with a six-wicket win in the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League.
