India unlikely to tour South Africa
Cricket South Africa might be looking into the abyss when it comes to its finances, as India is unlikely to tour South Africa for a three-game series. If the tour continued, Cricket South Africa would have reduced its total debt by $ 10 million.
On May 21, in an online press conference, CSA Acting Chief Executive Officer Jacques Faul stated that they had a teleconference with India the day before and were encouraged by their willingness to honour the agreement to play all three T20s. in August.
While BCCI went ahead and planned the 2020 Indian Premier League, it now seems unlikely that the Indian team will tour South Africa, especially after their plan to tour Australia immediately after the IPL.
Cricbuzz reported the same saying that Cricket South Africa, which was planning to make around $ 10 million from the series, removed the same from the budget, indicating that the tour is almost off.
While the busy arrangements of the India tour until the 2022 IPL, in which they would literally have no free time to host any postponed series other than the local England show, means that it becomes practically impossible for the board to plan accordingly.
However, given the good relationship Sourav Ganguly and Graeme Smith share, there was a flicker of the possibility that the series could have been fixed at some point. However, that has now been nipped in the bud.
