India to Host 2021 and Australia to host 2022 T20 World Cup

The deadly coronavirus has disrupted the international cricket schedule. Not only the international series, but this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia has also been cancelled due to Corona. The ICC has rescheduled the cancellation of the T20 World Cup now India to Host 2021 and Australia to host 2022 T20 World Cup.

Due to Corona, it will not be possible to host the World Cup on Australian soil in 2020, so it will be held in 2022. On the other hand, India has survived the race to host the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The ICC confirmed the information in a press release on Friday (August 8th).

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that the 2021 World Cup to be held on Indian soil is not changing. However, the World Twenty20 in Australia, which was postponed due to Corona, will be held in 2022, two years back.

Meanwhile, the ICC has decided on another World Cup in addition to these two. That is the 2021 Women’s ODI World Cup to be held in New Zealand. Due to Corona, it is not being held on time.

The Women’s 2021 ODI World Cup in New Zealand has been postponed for a year. Although it was supposed to be held in February-March 2021, due to the situation arising due to Corona, the event was held in February-March 2022.

The cricket world will watch the World Cup for three consecutive years from next year as the World Cup in Australia has been cancelled due to Corona. After the Twenty20 World Cups in India and Australia in 2021 and 2022 respectively, the ODI World Cup will be held on Indian soil in 2023.
