India one of the strongest teams in the world, says Rassie van der Dussen
As India and South Africa prepare to face off in the T20I final of the three-game series, Proteas batsman Rassie van der Dussen called India one of the “strongest” teams in the world. We came here, and we knew it was going to be difficult. India is one of the strongest teams in the world, and we are embracing that challenge, Rassie van der Dussen told the reporters.
India vs South Africa T20
The first T20I abandoned due to rain, but after winning the second T20I, India took a 1-0 lead over South Africa in the three-match T20I series.
“Unfortunately, the first game washed due to the rain, but we have one more chance to level the series,” Rassie said.
In the second T20I, South Africa scored only 23 runs in the last three overs and fell 10-15 runs below the even score.
“Credit should go to the way India’s bowlers played in the last playoffs. We didn’t capitalize, and we fell short 10-15 runs, 165 would have been a good score,” Rassie said.
“The last match didn’t go well, but we’ve learned many lessons, and we’re better prepared for this moment,” he added.
The India team made up of many young bowlers for the South African series. However, Rassie said many players have the experience of playing T20, if not international, cricket.
“They have no experience in terms of international cricket, but we know they have played T20 cricket, especially on their terms,” the South African hitter said.
Speaking about the trio of Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli, Rassie said, “Those guys are world-class players and probably the best hitters in the T20. Virat and Rohit are the best run scorers, and it’s a big challenge for us.”
