India is trying to organize a farewell match for MS Dhoni
When Dhoni retired, there was no series in front of India. BCCI officials do not want to say goodbye to Dhoni now. They want to host a farewell match for the former captain MS Dhoni at the end of the upcoming IPL.
But will Dhoni agree to that? A BCCI official said that they will talk to Dhoni once the IPL starts. They want to say goodbye to him by organizing a series at the end of IPL. But if he does not agree to that, the BCCI will arrange a reception.
A BCCI official told the Indo-Asian News Service that the board would discuss his farewell match with Dhoni in the upcoming IPL season. Then whatever will be planned.
“We don’t have an international series now,” said the BCCI official, who did not want to be named. We will see what can be done after IPL. Because Dhoni has given a lot for this country and he deserves all kinds of respect. We have always wanted to organize a farewell match for Dhoni. But Dhoni is a completely different type of player. He announced his retirement at a time when no one was thinking.
If Dhoni does not agree to host the match, a reception will be given, the official said. But we will definitely talk to him during the IPL. In my opinion, that would be the right time to discuss anything. Whether he agrees or not, a reception will be arranged for him. We will be proud to be able to welcome him. ‘
