ICC Increase The Number of Players In T20 World Cup 2021

ICC To Allow 30-Member Squad Including Support Staff in T20 World Cup 2021

The T20 World Cup 2021 will be held on Indian soil later this year. The teams will be able to take 8 additional cricketers in this year’s T20 World Cup. ICC increases the number of players in the Squad for T20 World Cup 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the matter after a virtual discussion on Thursday (April 1). Although the Corona outbreak has not abated, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the T20 World Cup later this year.

As a result, the ICC is planning the World Cup in consultation with the highest governing body of Indian cricket. According to the previous rules of the world’s highest regulatory body, the teams could go to play a global tournament with a team of 23 members.

Where 15 cricketers could go with 8 member support staff. However, the ICC is going to make some changes in the rules as the World Cup will be held in Corona.

Instead of 23 members, this year’s World Cup team will have 30 members. This time 8 additional cricketers will be added along with 23 of the previous rules. The ICC increases the number of players for each team participating in the T20 World Cup 2021 and has decided that if a cricketer’s coronavirus condition is corona positive, he should be replaced immediately.

However, the highest governing body of cricket has not given the obligation to take 8 additional cricketers. Any team can take extra support staff instead of cricketers. However, in that case, if 1 person takes additional support staff, 8 people can take extra cricketers. And if the number of additional support staff is 2, the number of additional cricketers will be five.

Although the ICC has not made a final decision, Cricinfo claims that cricket’s highest governing body is abiding by all the rules taken during the epidemic, including a neutral umpire, corona substitutes, and a ban on the use of saliva to brighten the ball.
