HBL PSL Season 5 Matches to Held in Peshawar as well
Peshawar has been added as the headquarters to host the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Habib Bank Limited (HBL). After a high-level meeting between PSL franchise owners and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani.
Previously, only Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan reported as the venues for HBL PSL matches in Pakistan, but now Peshawar has also been included on the list.
During the meeting, the PCB assures franchisees that it will address its claims to ensure that the interests of both parties are protected.
The PCB decided to bring HBL PSL 5 complete to Pakistan next year, but it reports that the reluctance of foreign players to play the full season in Pakistan was a possible obstacle in this regard. To defy this situation, the PCB and franchises agree to work together and encourage foreign players to visit Pakistan.
The board and franchisees also agreed to revisit HBL PSL’s financial model, so that a system of mutual benefit can be attributed.
The date for the next HBL PSL Governing Council meeting will also be announced soon, sources said. The schedule for next season to finalize during the same meeting. Although previously reported, the next edition will begin on February 20 and end on March 22.
