Harry Gurney suffered a shoulder injury
Nottinghamshire fast bowler Harry Gurney has suffered a shoulder injury. As a result, he was dropped from the 2020 T20 Blast and the upcoming IPL 2020. The pace bowler was supposed to play for Shah Rukh’s Kolkata Knight Riders.
He took 6 wickets in 6 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders last season. Gurney will be operated on next month. Only 7 foreigners are now in the 23-member KKR team that suffered from his injury. The Kolkata Knight Riders will soon announce who will replace Garney.
In a statement on the Nottinghamshire Cricket website, he said: “As much as everyone was frustrated waiting for cricket to resume this year, I will miss Blast (T20 Blast) when I return to cricket.”
“I have had some great moments for Nottinghamshire. I have some great teammates in this team. It is very difficult to spend this year without them. I have a lot of sympathy for the whole team. I think Nottinghamshire will go a long way in this tournament. I will also rejoice in their victory. If anyone needs any advice, I will definitely try to give it. ” He adds.
Nottingham coach Peter Moores, who lost to Harry Gurney, said: “Harry (Gurney) is doing great in all T20 tournaments. It’s a big shock that I can’t find him again this year. ”
“The experience and skills he has gained from his global white-ball career have made him a true leader in our limited-overs dressing room. What I always say in this situation is – although we are all interested in Harry, someone else will be given a chance. Hopefully, the matter will be exciting. We have some more experienced bowlers. I don’t think losing Harry would be too much of a problem. Others have to take a little more responsibility. ” He adds.
On the other hand, the local players of Kolkata Knight Riders have already reached the United Arab Emirates. Losing a player at this time is a big push for them. The mega tournament IPL will start on September 19.
