Gamblers would not be able to take advantage of IPL 2020
The Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in a ‘biosecurity environment’ due to the deadly coronavirus. Ajit Singh, head of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said gamblers would not be able to take advantage of IPL 2020 is such environment.
More than 200 countries around the world have been suffering from corona since December. Many lives are being lost, still happening. It is unthinkable how many people have been harmed. However, Ajit thinks that this corona will benefit the IPL.
“The IPL will be held in a bio-safe environment,” Ajit told Reuters. There will be many more stringent security including hygiene. Players will not be able to meet anyone outside. So it will be easier to control the game. If you want to do something this time, gamblers have to think about many things.
Although the players cannot be met due to the strict security of the corona, there is a way to communicate with the players on social media or on the phone. What will ACU do in this case!
ACU chief Ajit also gave the answer. He said, ‘The way to communicate with the players is through social media or phone. Gamblers can communicate through this. But it is our responsibility to control. We have a strict plan in this regard.
Ajit said the ICC’s anti-corruption commission would also keep a close watch on Aksu through communication. “Naturally, many will try to communicate,” he said. But friends, there could be many more behind the scenes. So monitoring on social media will not be too much of a problem. We will take the help of professionals.
Despite the IPL, the ICC’s anti-corruption body Aksur will be taken help, Ajit said. “The ICC doesn’t have to do anything directly,” he said. We will exchange information with them in the normal process. But if needed, they will also be helped.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years in 2013 for allegedly playing in the IPL. There are also suspicions on various players.
