Fans Trolls England As Australia Bowl Them Out For 67 Runs
Australia was quick to get back on track for the third Ashes Test 2019 in Leeds. The Down Under team was firmly behind the foot after a disappointing batting show on the first day. Australia collapsed on 179 runs. Jofra Archer took six wickets to help England dominate Australia for a modest total.
Australia was 132 for 2 thanks to the third stand of 111 between David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne. At this point, they were looking for a good total. But Archer had Warner taken for 61 to cause a three-wicket collapse for three points.
Even at 173-6, the honors seemed to be equal, but Archer came back again and ran through the tail. The last four wickets fell for six points. Labuschagne was beaten blank by Ben Stokes after scoring 74 points before Archer was stuck in Nathan Lyon’s leg before.
On the second day, England threw the lead or was forced to do so by Australia when they were out for only 67 runs. This is the lowest total in England against Australia since 1948, when there were only 52 at the Oval. England’s lowest test total is 45, which has also come against its rivals.
England has never sought a good total thanks to the brilliant keels of the Australian pacers. Josh Hazlewood was the star of the series as he picked up a well-deserved five-wicket race. Only one batsman – Joe Denly (12) – broke the two-figure mark as Australia took a convenient 112-point lead.
If Australia succeeds in winning this test, it will keep the ashes. Australia has not won or drawn the ashes in England since 2001. For its part, Twitter was quick to praise England’s injuries. Here are some of the reactions:
