Fans Are Unhappy with the Umpiring Level in the Final

Refereeing was again at the center of the competition in the ICC Cricket World Cup final between England and New Zealand and Lord’s with three refereeing errors in the first rounds. First, New Zealand opener Henry Nicholls was traded to Chris Woakes in the third. The batsman successfully reviewed as the replays showed that the ball was passing over the stumps.

At the 23rd over, Dharmasena failed to spot Kick Williamson. The Liam Plunkett requested a review and the hosts got the decision in their favor. The experienced Erasmus Marsh also made a bad decision by giving Ross Taylor against Mark Wood in 34th Over. Replays showed the ball was passing over the stumps, but New Zealand had no more review, as Martin Guptill had used one to make an earlier call.

Fans were unhappy to see so many differences in the World Cup final and criticized the referees. Or might be this is the major factor considered in the loss of New Zealand.
