European Table Tennis Championship Postponed

Due to the increasing number of corona infections in Europe, the European table tennis championship scheduled for September in Warsaw has been postponed indefinitely, the European association ETTU announced on its website.

The European Championships in singles, doubles and mixed should take place in the Polish capital from September 15 to 20.

“Since not all member associations could have participated in these conditions, it would not have been a fair European championship,” said the Dutch president of the ETTU, Ronald Kramer. “The safety of the players, coaches, officials, volunteers and support staff is a priority.”

A new date for the individual EM has not yet been set. Due to the corona pandemic, the World Team Cup in Busan, South Korea, has already been postponed to 2021.

The only major international tournament that has yet to be canceled this year is the World Cup from October 16-18 in Düsseldorf.
