Match Preview:

England will begin the summer of 2021 with a two-match Test series against New Zealand, which will begin on June 2. Lord’s Cricket Ground in London will host the first Test match. England and New Zealand last played a Test series in England in 2015. The series concluded in a draw, with England winning the first Test and New Zealand rallying to tie the series.

After an almost three-month break from Test cricket, the hosts will return for the opening Test. In their most recent Test match, England lost to India in an away Test series. New Zealand, on the other side, has not played any Test cricket in the recent few months. In early January, they played Pakistan at home in their only Test appearance of 2021.

The last time England and New Zealand played a Test match was in Hamilton in 2019, during England’s tour of New Zealand. The hosts had previously won 1-0 in a series that was not part of the Test Championship.
