Ireland leads by 122-runs after Demolishing England on 85 runs
The Irish team was all out on 207-10 in response to England’s exploited 85-10. Ireland still manages the 122-run lead in their first inning, the opening day of a one-off test at Lord’s on Wednesday. Andrew Balbirnie was the top scorer with 55 (the only fifty on each side so far in the match), with fast bowler Sam Curran, Olly Stone and Stuart Broad taking three wickets each.
Ireland, playing his first Test against England, set a strong position when veteran seamstress Tim Murtagh took five-wicket haul for just 13-runs, as the hosts were sent off before lunch in just 23-overs. The Irish batsmen batter for more than four and a half hours, with England, knocked down in just over two after the home captain, Joe Root, won the draw.
