Don’t want to think about entering 100 Test milestone Says, Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma, India’s best player, is just eight games away from entering the elite 100 Test club but doesn’t want to lose focus with the coveted milestone in mind. On his 31st birthday, the most limited cricketer on the current team, he said it’s best to focus on the work in question to avoid cluttering the mind.
Ishant, who is playing his 92nd test match, has 277 wickets on the fourth day and is third on the list behind Kapil Dev (434 wickets) and Zaheer Khan (311 wickets).
-Sharma told Reporters-
“As far I remembered a few years ago, Zaheer would say to me something about the 100 tests, but then he didn’t complete the milestone (92 tests). I mean, if I play another four or five years, yes, I could complete it, but I don’t want to think about that. I think if you start thinking too far, then you can get confused, so it’s best to start taking a Test Match game at a time.
When asked about the new variations he introduced in his bowling alley, Ishant said that
“Now I can pull the ball away from the left-hander that comes from around the gate, and I can also straighten the deliveries.”
Ishant also seemed happy about how Jasprit Bumrah had become a lethal weapon in such a short time. “Boom is fantastic. Even before we’re well prepared for our spell, he’s getting five or six-wickets. I jokingly tell him, please wait, that we warm-up.
