Dishant Yagnik Tests Positive for Covid-19
Rajasthan Royals field coach Dishant Yagnik tests positive for Coronavirus and will now undergo a 14-day quarantine according to BCCI protocol. Yagnik has confirmed the news on his Twitter account and has revealed that he will be joining the team in the UAE after two negative test reports.
Yagnik, who is also from Rajasthan, has been associated with the Rajasthan Royals as a field coach for three years and was preparing for the UAE tour in Udaipur, where he underwent a Covid-19 test as per protocol. The players and support staff were supposed to meet in Mumbai next week before flying to the United Arab Emirates.
While other reports have so far been negative, the Rajasthan Royals have confirmed that Yagnik is one of the members who tested positive and will now undergo a 14-day quarantine. You will need to have two negative reports and after that, you will be allowed to join the team.
“The franchise implemented an additional test for all players, support staff and management traveling to the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the two tests recommended by BCCI, to ensure a process as robust as possible,” said the statement from the franchise.
“We ask everyone who has been near Dishant in the last 10 days to isolate themselves and get tested for COVID-19. We can confirm that no Rajasthan Royals or other IPL players have been near Dishant in the last 10 days. We wish Dishant a speedy recovery and hope that he will soon join the Royals’ camp in the UAE. ”
Dishant also wrote on its handle: “Hi everyone, I have tried COVID +. Get tested if you have been in contact with me in the last 10 days. In line with BCCI protocols, I will now be quarantined for 14 days. Then I will need 2 to tests b4 to join the @rajasthanroyals team in UAE. Thank you 4 years of blessings and good wishes! “
