Dharmasena has turned down the IPL offer for the Bangladesh series

Kumar Dharmasena was regularly seen umpiring in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the umpire from the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) elite panel Dharmasena has turned down the IPL offer for the Bangladesh series. The reason is the upcoming Sri Lanka-Bangladesh series.

The veteran umpire has turned down the IPL offer for the Bangladesh series. He had to do this to have a series against his country. According to Sri Lankan Cricket, Dharmasena was hired for the series in July.

Along with Dharmasena, Ranjan Madugalle will be seen in charge of the series. The reserve umpires for the three-match series are Ruchira Paliaguruge, Lyndon Hannibal, and Pregit Rambukella. Originally, the mandatory rule of conducting a neutral match in Tests has been lifted considering the next time Corona. The umpires of their respective countries can be kept in the match.
