However, Mickey Arthur’s contract was not renewed by the Pakistan Cricket Commission. It has also been reported that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan did not want Arthur to continue to be the head coach. Arthur had led Pakistan to the glory of the 2017 Champions Trophy, where Pakistan beat their rival in the standings, India, by a whopping margin of 180 runs. However, Arthur’s role as head coach was taken seriously when the team failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup that just ended.
Pakistan finished fifth on the ODI podium after recording five wins and three losses in eight matches. The Men in Green were eliminated because of the low net draw rate compared to New Zealand. On the other hand, it has also been reported that Misbah-ul-Haq was the first to be Pakistan’s new head coach. Meanwhile, Pakistani captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s role is also under the scanner. Besides, Azhar Mahmood, who was the bowling coach, was fired with his contract. Saj Sadiq, a well-known Pakistani journalist, confirmed his information on his Twitter account.
