T20 World Cup 2021: David Wiese To Play For Namibia in the T20 WC 2021

Former South African all-rounder David Wiese to play for Namibia in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. Namibia national team coach Pierre de Bruyne confirmed the matter.
David Wiese , 38, last landed in South Africa in 2016. For a time after being dropped from the team, English County played in a callback deal. He has played 20 ODIs with 8 T20s in Proteas jersey. In all, 33 wickets were taken with 194 runs.

David Wiese has experience playing in 255 T20s, including various franchise tournaments around the world. His father was born in Namibia, where he qualified for the national team.

“David’s father was born here, so he qualifies to play for Namibia,” Namibia head coach Bruin told a news conference. He is currently playing in the T20 Blast in England, but will join us after that and will stay with us even after the World Cup. So I am very excited about this. ‘

‘His team is in the Sussex quarter-finals, so we must see how far he goes there. But I hope he can at least join the free state tour. ‘

It is to be noted that Namibia will have to qualify for the main round of the T20 World Cup 2021. Their partners in Group A are Sri Lanka, Ireland, and the Netherlands. On the other hand, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman are with Bangladesh in Group B.

The T20 World Cup is expected to start on October 16 with the qualifying round. All qualifying matches will be played in Oman and the main matches will be played in the UAE.
