Cricket South Africa fires CEO Thabang Moroe
Following an independent investigation, the Cricket South Africa fires CEO Thabang Moroe for serious misconduct. He was suspended during the investigation. Although Cricket South Africa did not elaborate on his offence.
The country’s media thinks that the matter does not end here. The matter is likely to be taken to court. But the good news for Cricket South Africa is that the money behind Thabang Moore has stopped. Cricketer’s report states that ১ 175,000 has been spent on him since his suspension last December.
In a statement, Cricket South Africa said: “The decision is based on the results of an independent forensic investigation. The investigation revealed that Janam Thabang More was involved in serious misconduct. Which forced him to resign permanently.
Cricket South Africa is going through a difficult crisis following the resignation of the acting chief executive and president last week. These off-field shoots are nothing new in South Africa. Thabang Moore was appointed chief executive in 2016 after Aaron Lorgat stepped down after relations with the board soured.
Gerald Majola, who had previously served as chief executive in 2012, was fired along with other employees at the time for alleged misconduct and corruption in the board’s financial transactions. Cricket in South Africa has also been affected by the recent Black Live Matter movement. Where black and white former current cricketers were busy throwing mud for and against.
