Cricket could be a Part of 2028 Olympic games

Cricket could be a part of 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) announced on Monday. The MCC, the guardian of cricket laws, held its meeting of the World Cricket Committee (WCC) where it discussed the inclusion of cricket in the multi-sport events organized by Lord’s on Sunday and Monday.

For the last time played in 1900, the Olympic return of sport was on the agenda of the (ICC). But the powerful Indian Committee (BCCI) feared that cricket would lose its autonomy and report to the country’s Olympic committee.

“There is still a lot of work to be done to include cricket in the Olympics. Los Angeles 2028 is the most likely opportunity and the ICC continues to work in-house to align cricket to pursue its stated ambitions. However, the BCCI is finally on the verge of being the responsibility of the National Anti-Doping Agency. Which will allow its cricket teams to participate in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
