Ben Stokes named the Wisden Cricketer of the Year
Ben Stokes has been named the Wisden Almanack Cricketer of the Year again. This is the second time in a row that this English all-rounder has won the award. Stokes has been named the leading cricketer of the year by Wisden’s Almanack, published on Thursday.
Stokes was named Wisden’s best cricketer in 2020 after his World Cup and Ashes performances. Breaking the reign of Virat Kohli, who has won the award three times in a row. This time the English star maintained the style of his kingdom. Stokes has done a great job in mourning the death of his father.
He has scored 641 runs in Test cricket at an average of 57.28. He took 19 wickets with the ball. Wisden’s Cricketer of the Year has been voted for the second time as the first English cricketer to do so. Stokes, 29, became the first English cricketer since Andrew Flintoff to win the award in 2005.
