BCCI Calls Special Meeting For T20 World Cup 2021
The England cricket team is scheduled to tour India before the T20 World Cup. But before that, India wants to return to domestic cricket. Sourav Ganguly BCCI chairman called a special meeting to discuss T20 World Cup 2021. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has convened a special meeting in Corona to discuss the ‘upcoming cricket season. The meeting will be held on May 29.
The popular tournament had to be stopped midway as the deadly coronavirus spread across the country was identified in the IPL. India is also worried about the T20 World Cup as the IPL has been postponed. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), headed by Sourav Ganguly, is not giving up.
In a notice, BCCI secretary J Shah said, “Notices have been issued for 29 special BCCI special general meetings (SGMs) for business transactions.” Considering the epidemic situation in India, the upcoming cricket season will also be discussed.
Meanwhile, the notice of the special meeting did not give a detailed description but gave some importance. BCCI Secretary J Shah requested all concerned to attend the meeting at the right time.
BCCI officials did not immediately elaborate on the notice issued on Tuesday (May 16th) night. However, it is certain that the BCCI is going to hold a special meeting on the country’s soil with the T20 World Cup.
Because, in the current situation, it is now certain that the T20 World Cup will be lost if the country cannot return to the game. The ICC has already announced alternative arrangements.
India is scheduled to host the Twenty20 World Cup in October-November this year. However, if it is not possible to host the T20 World Cup in India due to Corona, the tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates.
