Bangladesh VS West Indies CWC19 Match 23 Result
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 23rd of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Bangladesh chases the second highest total in World Cup history. Shakib Al Hasan’s brilliant century secured the Seven wicket win over West Indies. Shakib made 124 runs from 99 balls and Liton Das collected a superb 94 runs on 69 deliveries. Leading Bangladesh to 322-3 with a surplus of 8.3 overs.
Bangladesh’s biggest international one-day pursuit put the Belgians behind Ireland’s group 329 against England. Ireland made the successful World Cup pursuits against England in 2011. Mashrafe’s team still has a chance to reach the semi-finals after their second win in five matches. It was a brutal day for the West Indies, who were on their guard and playing too badly. A third defeat in five matches means it is extremely unlikely to qualify for the semi-finals.
Before the Men’s Masterclass in Mashrafe, the highest pursuit of the current World Cup was 248 against New Zealand. But the Tigers had already scored 330 in the first set of their win over South Africa earlier in the competition and were never intimidated by their task against the Windies. Opener Tamim Iqbal set the tone for the race with a six and fours in his 53 runs of 53 balls before being superbly eliminated by Sheldon Cottrell.
But Bangladeshi fans applauded heartily when Shakib became the second player to score 6,000 career runs with ODI for the Tigers. After reaching his fifth consecutive ODI 50, Shakib who had scored 121 against England earlier in the tournament took command with a brilliant round. So far, Shakib is the top scorer at this year’s World Cup and the West Indies were powerless as he and Das demolished their lost bowling to go home.
