Bangladesh Moves to 2nd Place in the ODI Super League World Cup Qualifiers 2023
Bangladesh cricket team is in 2nd place in the list of points in ICC ODI Super League or 2023 World Cup qualifiers. Top Australia in ICC published Super League. Australia is on top with 40 points after winning 4 out of 4 ODIs. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and England equal 30 points. However, Bangladesh is in second place in the points table as it is ahead in the net run rate. This is followed by England and Afghanistan.
Pakistan has 20 points in three matches and Windies has five points in five matches. Zimbabwe’s collection at the bottom is 10 points.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already decided to launch the ODI Super League to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. The ICC Super League kicks off on 30 July 2020 in Southampton with a match against world champions England in Ireland.
13 teams including the Netherlands will take part in this competition. Each team will play 6 series on a home and away basis. The top seven teams in the league will get a chance to play in the 2023 World Cup in India. The other five teams will play against ICC Associate Nations. The rest of the teams will get a chance from there.
With a clean sweep of the West Indies at home, Bangladesh rise to No. 2 in the ODI Super League points table with a full 30 points and a good run rate. West Indies also got 30 points after Sri Lanka won the series 3-0 at home. However, after more matches and run rate, their position is at number 7.
