RCB Vs MI Match 7 IPL 2019
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 7th match of IPL 2019.
Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga defended 22 runs to seize a victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore by six runs and open the account for Mumbai Indians. AB de Villiers stroked two six and a four in the 18th over. But Bumrah knocked over a superb over, giving only five runs and taking the wicket of Colin de Grandhomme.
While 17 runs left in the last six balls, the young Shivam Dube crushed Malinga for a six. But Malinga made a comeback, yielding only four runs out of the remaining five deliveries. Though Bumrah dropped Dube on the second ball of the last over. The controversy broke out at the end of the game when the giant screen showed that the last ball launched by Malinga was a no ball. If no-ball had been spotted, RCB would have been entitled to an extra point and a free hit, and the AB de Villiers could have been on strike.
The RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, called this “ridiculous call” in the post-match presentation. “We play at the IPL level, not at Club cricket,” said Kohli. “The referees should have their eyes open, it was a ball less than an inch. This is a completely different game [if there had been an additional benefit]. ”
Parthiv Patel made 31 runs out of 22 balls and KOHLI 46 runs on 32 balls anchored the pursuit of RCB after Moeen Ali 13 out of 7 balls was eliminated early. Kohli also became the second player in the history of IPL-behind Suresh Raina-to complete 5 000 points in the competition. Kohli added 40 points for the second stand with Patel before adding 49 with the AB de Villiers. When Bumrah withdrew Kohli at the 14th over, RCB needs 72 runs on 38 balls. De Villiers added 31 runs with Shimron Hetmyer, who only contributed five times to this partnership. The skippers Rohit Sharma made 48 runs on 33 balls and Quinton de Kock scores 23 out of 20 runs.
