Awais Zia fined for PCB Code of Conduct breach

Balochistan’s opening batsmen, Awais Zia, fined 50 percent of his match fee for a Level 2 offense related to a player’s personal abuse, player support staff, referee or match referee during the three-day of Quaid-e-Azam QeA trophy match against Southern Punjab at Dring Stadium in Bahawalpur.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) press release, the incident occurred on Friday, the first day of the match, when Awais used inappropriate language against his bating partner Shehzad Tareen while returning to the locker room after a mix-up that led to her without.

Awais charged by referees at the Imtiaz Iqbal and Abdul Moqeet field at the end of the first day of play for violating article 2.13 of the PCB Code of Conduct for players and player support staff.

On Saturday, Awais pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction proposed by match umpire Mohammad Javed Malik.
