Australia VS New Zealand CWC19 Match 37 Result

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the 37th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Match Summary:

Australia claimed an 86 runs victory over New Zealand at Lord’s on Saturday. Aaron Finch’s team, already one of the last four players in the 10-team preliminary round, was shaking at 92-5 after winning the draw on a hot day. However, Khawaja 88 runs, backed by Alex Carey 71 runs, stabilized the ship before becoming the first victim of a final hat trick by Trent Boult, the paceman in his left arm, at the end of Australia. 243-9.

That proved to be more than enough, as New Zealand dropped to 157 with 38 balls to spare. Jason Behrendorff (2-31) eliminated the two New Zealand openers before Starc – the tournament’s main spin-off – blossomed with a 5-26 record. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who scored 40 goals, was unable to repeat his early tournament exploits as the Black Caps’ pursuit failed to take off.

They have yet to confirm their place in the semi-finals with one match to play, but if England loses to India in Birmingham on Sunday, New Zealand will be in the last four before facing the tournament hosts in their last group game.

Man of the Match Award:

Alex Carey was awarded as man of the match award for his amazing batting.
