Australia Vs India CWC19 Match 14 Result
India won the toss and opted to bat first in the 14th match of Cricket World Cup 2019.
India wins their second consecutive match of World Cup 2019, as India beats Australia by 36 runs. Shikhar Dhawan played an amazing inning which played an important role in the win. The opening stand of the 127 runs by Dhawan and Rohit Sharma laid a solid foundation for India, which inscribed 352 after Captain Virat Kohli smashed all over the ground. Kohli himself quickly hit the 82 runs and forged a strong partnership with the versatile Hardik Pandya to put pressure on defending champions.
India then limited Australia to 316 in 50 overs to win its second consecutive World Cup victory after an overwhelming victory over South Africa. The half-centuries of David Warner and Steve Smith could not save Australia from defeat, as India continued to exert pressure. Smith scored the best score for Australia with 69 on 70 balls, while Warner made it 56.
A little earlier, STARC had Dhawan caught in midwicket to end a solid handle. Dhawan no longer took part in the game as he was hit by Pat Cummins. Pandya, who was caught in motion the first ball, was dropped by the keeper Alex Carey, who took advantage of the second chance to score 48 runs in just 27 deliveries. Australia fought well, but the pressure of the scoreboard continued to push things back. The skipper Aaron Finch was escaped for a well made 36 runs, while Warner survived an early scare by placing a Bumrah delivery on his abutments.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar added further difficulties to the pursuit of the race following his double strike at the 40th over representing Smith and Marcus Stoinis. Chahal got rid of Glenn Maxwell for 28 runs, although Carey’s undefeated 55 allowed Australia to score more than 300 points.
