Australia VS England CWC19 Match 32 Result

Toss:

England won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 32nd match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Match Summary:

Australian captain Aaron Finch scored 100 runs before the left-wing attacks, Jason Behrendorff and Mitchell Starc shared nine counters. The defending champions beat England by 64 runs to earn their place in the World Cup 2019 semi-finals. Finch made exactly 100 out of a total of 285-7 before England fell to 221 with 32 balls to play.

Behrendorff recalled, took 5-44 – his first five wickets haul as Starc became the tournament’s top pitcher with 19 scalps thanks to a 4-43 shot. For England, it was a second consecutive defeat after their shocking 20-point defeat to Sri Lanka. The host country, eager to win a first World Cup title, can still qualify for the semi-finals, but it is likely that it will have to beat at least one of the Indian and New Zealand countries in its last two group matches.

England’s response allowed them to lose a wicket on the second ball of their hunt, with James Vince in trouble playing only because Jason Roy was injured in the hamstring by a Behrendorff inswinger. Starc then took two wickets in nine balls. The test captain, Joe Root, was sunstroke for eight minutes before England captain Eoin Morgan (four) fell into a hook trap when Pat Cummins held the edge high safely.

Australia, who had lost 10 of their last 11 ODIS to England, was now in charge with the hosts 26-3. England has climbed to the top of the ODI standings. But Morgan’s men’s concern is that too many of their best players seem to know only one way to hit.

Man of the Match Award:

Aron Finch was awarded as man of the match award for his another hundred of this tournament.
