Australia retained their top spot in T20 Teams Ranking

Touring Australia had already lost the series after losing the first two of the three matches. Whitewash was scared ahead of the last match. But that did not happen. Australia retained their top spot in T20 cricket by defeating hosts England by five wickets.

Australia decided to field first after winning the toss in the last T20 match of the series on Tuesday (September 6). As a result, England batted first and lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 145 runs. With 3 balls left in reply, Australia reached the port of victory by scoring 146 runs for 5 wickets.

The hosts could not do a very good job by batting. Johnny Bairstow and Dawid Malan took the helm after losing opener Tom Banton by two runs. However, Johnny scored 55 runs but Malala could not go far.

Apart from Johnny Bairst and David Malan, only two other England batsmen have managed to double the number of runs scored. Moin Ali, who led the match in the absence of regular captain Ian Morgan, made 23 off 21 balls. Joe Denley, on the other hand, made 23 off 19 balls unbeaten. In the end, the hosts scored 145 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

In T20 cricket, the visitors got off to a good start by batting with an easy target of 147 runs. As David Warner was not in the XI of the match, Matthew Wade came down to open with captain Aaron Finch. When he returned with 14 runs off 9 balls, Australia lost the first wicket for 31 runs.

After losing the first wicket, Marcus Stoyanis formed a 39-run partnership with the captain. Stoins returned with 28 runs off 16 balls. After that, however, the fear of defeat arose in the Australian camp. In the 11th over, Finch returned to the dressing room for the fourth wicket for 6 runs. The Aussie captain scored 39 runs from 26 balls.

Mitchell Marsh and Aston Agar saved the team from losing by four wickets. They both batted great in the end. The best batsman of the match scored 39 runs from 36 balls. On the other hand, Agar played a great role in the victory by scoring 16 runs from 13 balls. Both of them took the team to the port of victory from unbeaten.

Australia, meanwhile, is ashamed of being whitewashed after losing the last match of the series and have retained their superiority in T20 cricket. With this victory, Australia’s rating point in the T20 has increased by 275 points. On the other hand, the rating of England is 281. Australia would have lost the lead if England had won the match.
