Australia Announce Squad For T20 and ODI Series Against West Indies 2021

Cricket Australia has announced a 23-member preliminary squad ahead of the T20 and ODI 2021 series against the host West Indies. A bunch of spinners has been included in the squad for the T20 World Cup. Among them are Mitchell Swepson, Tanveer Sangh, and Adam Zampa.

Australia will play three ODIs and five T20I matches against the West Indies. With the T20 World Cup looming, the number of matches in this format of series cricket has been increased. The team was announced in a press release on Monday (May 18).

Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Hazelwood, David Warner, Moises Henriques, Alex Carey, and Pat Cummins are back in the announced squad. The last time they were not in the series was against New Zealand.

Kane Richardson, Jhye Richardson, and Andrew Tye have also been placed alongside Cummins, Hazelwood, and Stark in the pace attack. The squad also includes pacers like Riley Meredith and Jason Behrendroff.

Australia will start T20 against West Indies from July 9. The ODI series will start on July 20 and will end on July 24. The West Indies will tour South Africa before Australia.
