Afghanistan Vs India CWC19 Match 28 Result
India won the toss and elected to bat first in the 28th match of World Cup 2019.
Mohammed Shami pulled off a spectacular pass to earn a thrilling 11 runs victory over Afghanistan. Afghanistan, who played only their second World Cup, lost the match but limited India to 224 for eight in their 50 overs, giving them a real chance to be hugely upset. Jasper Bumrah withdrew Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi. Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran fought well to keep their team in the hunt, but when Zadran was caught by Yuzvendra Chahal in Hardik Pandya. Afghanistan ended up 166-6 in the 42nd.
Nabi was still there in the final, with 16 required and Shami’s first ball on the ground for four. With an incredible triumph within reach, Nabi was caught by Pandya on two balls later. Shami then defeated Aftab Alam and Mujeeb Ur Rahman to seal a nervous victory with a hat trick.
Earlier, an increasingly tested India was furious when the referee rejected a loud shout from Bumrah at the start of the 29th over, hitting Shah on the legs Kohli had no more review left. Just three ball later, Shah, out of 36, has a hook and Chahal caught a nice catch of the last leg.
