Almost all the teams and cricketers of the squad are busy preparing for the 14th edition of the IPL 2021. However, the Chennai Super Kings have already unveiled their new jerseys. On Wednesday (March 24), the captain of the franchise team Mahendra Singh Dhoni showed the new jersey on social media. The specialty of this CSK New Jersey is that it is made up of plastic bottles. This jersey is eco-friendly. Chennai has made a new jersey keeping in mind the environment.

The new jersey uses polyester yarn (synthetic yarn) that will absorb 90 percent less water. According to Chennai, carbon emissions have been reduced by 270 grams per jersey. This is not the first time in Indian cricket that plastic jerseys have been processed. The jersey of the Indian national team has been made in this way before. Polyethylene (PET) bottles were used in the 2016 jersey. These are processed and used in jersey yarn.

The olive-colored imprint on the shoulder in this new jersey from Chennai pays homage to the Indian Army. Captain Dhoni himself is an honorary lieutenant colonel in the Indian Army. The jersey has an abundance of Chennai’s traditional yellow color. Chennai has changed the design of the jersey for the first time since the start of the IPL. Jersey is sponsored by India’s e-commerce fashion company ‘Mantra’. However, the specialty of this jersey in Chennai is elsewhere – it is made by recycling plastic. It takes 15 plastic bottles to make this new CSK Jersey For IPL 2021.

A statement from Chennai on the new jersey said, “Camouflage has been used in the jersey out of respect for the Indian Army and there are three stars.” The number of stars in the national team in football, such as the number of world champions, is in the jersey; Chennai is also showing the number of titles they have won.
